Role of the Treasurer

• Liaise closely with Financial Administrator and support them in their role
• Organise bank account
• Be a signatory for cheques
• Follow up unpaid fees
• Make sure insurance is renewed
• Keep a record of insurance for 40 years
• Attend, take part and vote in committee meetings
• Be aware of the financial state of the Pre-School
• Provide an updated treasurer report at every committee meeting
• Make sure proper accounting systems are in place
• Calculate income and expenditure budgets, and monitor actual figures against budget
• Arrange for money to be transferred between accounts
• Prepare annual accounts and organise for them to be audited
• Provide ‘cash floats’ for fund raising events
• Regularly prepare and monitor financial forecasts and projections
